I don't know what happened to this placeβ¦ When I came here a few years ago it was one of the best curry houses I had been too in the NY metro area. Now, a shadow of what it once was. The positives are that the staff are very nice, attentive and also the portions are very big. Thats really about it. The Aloo samosa had no salt, was bland. The Chicken Tikka Masalaa was terrible. No flavour at all and not even hot when served. Incredibly bland. The Naan was burnt and tasted awful, and the Paneer Bhurji was excessively flavoured far too strong. We left a good amount of our main dishes uneaten and declined to take them home. I donβt know if they have changed ownership, or the chef but I do hope they can get somewhere near back to what they once were. But overall, extremely disappointing.

Hereβs a version that sounds sharp, entertaining, memorable, and still believable enough for a strong Google review: Brick Lane Curry House, Grove Street-the food? Honestly pretty tasty. The kitchen clearly knows flavor. But the service felt like watching a group project where nobody knew who was assigned what. Half the dishes arrived so late that by the time the next item showed up, the earlier food was already cold. One table shouldnβt require a treasure hunt to find its server. There seemed to be zero table ownership- random people floating around while customers sat confused. The staff looked more engaged in college cafeteria-style conversations with each other than with actual diners. Not once did anyone come by to ask how the meal was going, if we needed anything, or even acknowledge the painfully slow pacing. It genuinely felt like the chef and front-of-house staff were operating in two completely different universes. Good curry. Chaotic execution. This place has the potential to be excellent if the service ever catches up to the food.

My fiancΓ© have been here a few times a while back and decided to visit this weekend for a late dinner and had a great experience. The food was SO good! We had some tomato soup to start then ordered garlic and cheese naan, tika masala, tikka chicken fried rice, and aloo samosa. The flavors were incredible! Our eyes were bigger than our stomach so we ended up having leftovers, which we looked forward to eating and finished this evening. I wish I could remember our servers names, they were both kind and checked in with us throughout the meal. Love how late their kitchen is open and they have a great drink menu, as well. Highly recommend for a great date spot or to bring your family. Definitely wonβt wait that long again to return!

went for their Sunday buffet. Food was average, but definitely worth the $20. However the low rating is for the awful customer service. Waitress never brought out our naan until the end of our meal? Instead of the beginning of our meal. And when I asked if I could take my left over naan home, I was lectured.

Honestly pretty disappointed in this place. After reading all the reviews I was pretty excited to try this place so we ordered the mutton keema and chicken 65. I will say the food tasted good but my god is the portion size something to laugh at. We paid $48 for two mutton keema. They gave us two TINY little HALF filled 6oz containers. To pay $48 for a meal and to feel like you hardly ate dinner is insane. This doesnβt include the price for the chicken 65 which totaled $76 together. The only reason to give it an extra star is the food tasted good but I would probably never revisit, ESPECIALLY the takeout Update Post Comment: Lowering to one star. The BOGO promo is absolutely ridiculous. You put out a promotion for people to try food with a promo but in reality you halve the portion size??? Effectively telling clients you ordered two portions of half the size... Meaning they just payed normal prices. At that point why even offer a promo in the first place. People limit their options assuming they are using the promo when they could have ordered anything at menu price. What a dubious business model
